I wrote this song after seeing a photo of Bernini's beautiful sculpture 'the ecstasy of St. Theresa' and finding out that he'd taken revenge on his unfaithful lover by ordering a knife attack on her face. This triggered thoughts about cosmetic surgery and the current obsession with 'perfection'. It features a chip chip chip of the sculptor's chisel and background vocals with lyrics taken from a Latin love poem.
